School Days, School Days
I have been trying to clean and get ready…we officially started yesterday.
I think it helps to get cleaned, organized, REFRESHED.
I think it helps LM and MY attitude.
The “Back to School” spirit is in the air. I have always liked this time of year.
We will start the Homeschool Extension classes next week.
I have volunteered to open a Yahoogroup for the HS EXT. It has been quite a job. But I enjoy it.
I have also been elected to be the “Student Computer Assistant”. In other words, being the “Adult” in the room to make sure they are doing what they are supposed to be doing during their “free study time”.
I’m looking forward to the HS Ext. LM will be able to meet new friends…as I will, too. It will help him learn what a “classroom” is like. We sit at the dining room table …nothing like the school days I had. Thank goodness! I really didn’t like school and am so glad to give LM the opportunity to Homeschool.

Getting Ready For School
I am trying to clean out and purge my small school area to get read for a full-fledged school year. I feel so much better if I’m organized and have the “old” stuff out of the way!LM will be in the 4th grade and I am a little intimidated by it. I always am, until I realize we are doing what we are supposed to and he’s LEARNING. He is a great student and likes to learn. I’m so thankful, because that makes it so much easier. We have enrolled in a “Homeschool Extension” group. It’s a co-op where he will be taking Art, Theater and Botany…had to get one core class in there! It’s about 40 miles from us and will be 1 day a week. I will be assisting the Student Computer area. Since I offered to set up a YahooGroup for the co-op, I guess they think I know something about computers. Maybe I do a little, but it’s really just to make sure the kids aren’t standing around and playing games or being loud. Which means, I will have a chance to be on MY computer at that time. I did set up the YahooGroup. I will be the moderator and keep the calendar up to date. They have had this co-op going for 4 years and never had anything like it. I am so glad I asked. I like to be able to “get in touch”. This way we can have a calendar and know when classes are closed for bad weather, etc. Not to mention being able to chat with other members. Are YOU ready to homeschool this year? Do you have anxieties over it? What is your favorite thing about homeschooling? Least favorite? Do you think it is harder or easier with 1 child or several? Before & After pics of our “classroom”.

If you have any questions on homeschooling, ask me, I’d be glad to help you if I can.
